Haul Clarins Xmas Collection - Skin Smoothers

Multi-Active Collection

To date, the Clarins Multi-Active Line is my favourite.  It just agrees with my skin.

I needed a new day cream and these collection packs are such good value because you only pay for one full size product and you get the two travel sizes free as well as a great bag.

* Multi-Active Day Cream (50ml)
* Multi-Active Skin Renewal Serum (10ml)
* Multi-Active Night Cream (15ml)
* RRSP : R610 (Value : R1050)
* Available at all leading retailers

The bag in this gift set is much larger than their normal cosmetic bags.

The first thing I tried from this pack is the multi-active serum.  I have had samples of this serum before and couldn't wait to have more.  I love the fact that this serum is not greasy and just melts into the skin.

I am currently using the Clarrins Bright Plus Night Cream, so the Multi-Active night travel size will be used after that one is finished.  These travel sizes last unbelievably long once opened.  There is soo much product in them.

I use the day cream every morning after cleanser and toner.  I follow with an SPF 50 sunscreen.

Haul Clarins Xmas Collection - All About Eyes

If you follow my posts, you will notice that I love Clarins as a brand.  My skin loves Clarins Skincare.  Their makeup is really good.

I purchased the All About Eyes set before Xmas.

Eye beauty Essentials Collection:

*  Length & Curve Mascara No. 01 (7ml)
*  Instant Smooth Perfecting Touch (4ml)
*  Eye Revive Beauty Flash (3ml)
*  RRSP : R285 (Value : R490)
*  Available at all leading retailers

The Instant Smooth Perfecting Touch, I have been wanting to try forever.  It is a primer and i love using this under my MAC Studio Sculpt foundation.
Award-winning primer is the perfect combination of make-up and skin care. With an ultra-light texture, this wrinkle-smoothing formula leaves an imperceptible veil over the skin’s surface—filling-in the appearance of fine lines, wrinkles and pores. Skin becomes even, flawless and foundation-ready.

Eye Revive Beauty Flash
I love this product.  I may purchase the full size once this is finished.
Clarins’ quick ‘lift" for tired eyes — with refreshing Rose Petals, Lily and White Tea extracts — helps to minimize the look of dark circles, tighten eye contours, and de-puff. Hydrates and protects the delicate skin around eyes, while chasing-away the appearance of fine lines. Keep it in your emergency kit.

Their makeup bags that come with the products are so soft and velvety.  I love putting items in these bags and giving them as gifts.
I made up a gift with the bag and the mascara. I  added nail polish and lip products.  The colleague I gave it to was over joyed.

Skinare Haul - Clarins Bright Plus Night Cream & Extra-Firming Eye Wrinkle Smoothing Cream

For the last year or more, I have been religiously using and loving the Clarins Multi-Active Night Cream.  Clarins has introduced their Bright Plus skincare line and I thought I would try it out the night cream once my normal night cream was finished.  Besides anti-aging, which the Multi Active line takes care of,  I also want to brighten my skintone and get rid of any hyper-pigmentation.

Bright Plus HP Brightening Repairing Night Cream
Clarins Bright Plus HP Night Cream

Beauty Benefits
An exceptional cream combining freshness and comfort.
The Clarins Bright Plus HP Night Cream soothes, regenerates and moisturizes the skin.
The dual active brightening ingredients, Sea Lily and Daisy Extract, help to repair any harm caused by UV rays and daytime stress and slow the production of melanin during the night.
As a result, your skin will appear brighter and more radiant in the morning.

The Bight Plus Range is very light on the skin, so it is perfect for summer weather.  Now that i have tried the night cream, I really want to try the serum and the day cream.

Advanced Extra-Firming Eye Contour Cream
Clarins Extra-Firming Eye Wrinkle Smoothing Cream

Anti-wrinkle and comforting action for a soothed, more youthful-looking and smoother eye area.

Beauty Benefits
The anti-wrinkle comforting cream that helps keep skin looking youthful and firm. Smoothed, nourished and comforted, this soothing cream helps eyes retain their expressiveness without any fine lines or wrinkles.

This cream is geared to woman a little older than me, however my under eyes are very dry, and I like a thick cream for my eyes.  Concealer also dries my skin under my eyes, so a good thick cream helps in that regard.

When Clarins have their promotion, if you purchase two products, you get to choose 3 or 4 travel size products.  You also get a really nice quality cosmetic bag.  I always choose things I need from the free gifts.  The counter I buy Clarins from, always gives me over and above in free gift and samples, so I always walk away happy.  Clarins travel sizes are not the same as sample sizes, they are way bigger.

Gel Liner Haul - The Body Shop & LA Girl

Hi there

I have used the LA Girl gel liners in 'Very Black" and 'Dark Brown" religiously for the whole of last year.  Although they are almost finished, the little bit that is left, is still very creamy.  A lot of gel liners go hard and you have to toss them after a while.  So I had every intention on repurchasing the LA Girl gel liners.

However, on a random visit to the Body Shop, the sales assistant talked me into buying the "Smokey 2 in 1 Gel Liner".  The tester was very nice and creamy.  So I purchased it at R120.  I am still not sure if I should maybe return it and purchase the LA Girl one at R59,95.  Or I could give it a try?

She tried to sell me the brown shade as well, but it wasn't dark enough for me.

I did re-purchase the LA Girl Gel Liner in Dark Brown from Dischem.

So I am set for 2015.  I have purchased my gel liners for the year!

Haul: Signature Cosmetics Naked Palette

Hi there

A friend of mine telephoned me and told me that Signature Cosmetics had the Naked Palette on sale.
I had to see this with my own eyes.  I drove to the Game City Signature store where she had seen it the next day, but it was sold out.  Yesterday, I stumbled across it by accident.  I was visiting family and we went to a mall that I never go to, as it is very far away from where I live.  It was right by the door and there was only a tester and two new palettes left.

Firstly, on first sight, the word "Signature" shows where the "Urban Decay" logo usually is.

There is also a primer called " Signature Shadow Primer Potion" and a very nice eyeshadow brush.

Signature Naked Palette

You can see the difference on the word "Naked" where the mirror is.  Also the shadows appear in the same order except for the last four shadows.

Signature Naked Palette packaging

Below are the shade names on the Signature palette.  You will notice that some names are the same and others are different.  I will add the Urban decay shade names in brackets:

Sunrise (Virgin) is a pale, santiny nude beige. It’s very light, but it’s such a beautiful neutral. It’ would make for a great all-over wash or pop of light on the inner tear duct.  It can be used on the browbone as well

Sin (Sin) is a champagne with a touch of pink.

Nude (Naked) is a matte medium beige-brown. It has a very soft, smooth texture–not at all powdery or chalky.  I would use this shade to blend out any harsh lines.

Dust (Sidecar) is a medium bronze brown with almost a rosy beige undertone.

Sand (Buck) is a matte medium beige-brown. It has a silky smooth texture and rich color pay off. This shade is perfect for the crease.

Copper (Half Baked) is a coppery bronze with a metallic finish.

Stone (Smog) is a medium dark bronze with a gilded bronze sheen.

Ash (Darkhorse) is a darkened deep chocolate brown with flecks of bronze.

Gunmetal (Toasted) is a medium dark pinky brown with a satin finish.

Smokey (Hustle) is a dark plummy chocolate brown with a soft satin finish.

Oak (Creep) is a black onyx shade.

Urban (Gunmetal) is a blue-gray metallic. It almost feels like a duochrome, because it flashes blue but it’s dark and smoldering.

I am glad that it is advertised as a "Signature" product and not an "Urban Decay" fake.

This palette retails for R145.

Haul: Beauty Treats 88 Professional Warm Palette

Hi there

A few months ago, I saw the Beauty Treats 88 Professional Warm Palette in Dischem and contemplated on whether to buy it or not. When I made up my mind that I would go back and get it, it was sold out.  I took that as a sign (You don't need it, and have enough eyeshadows Natalie!)

Well they came back in to stock about Christmas time and when I saw it, I just had to get one.  Its like the perfect palette with every colour you need in one palette.  I have a warm yellow undertone so warm toned eyeshadows suit me the best.  It also has a large mirror, which makes it nice for travelling.

I have since lost my receipt, but I think I paid about R149 for this palette which works out to R1.67 per shadow.

Hope 2015 is treating you all well so far.

Keep well.

HAPPY NEW YEAR!!

Cheers to a New Year and another chance for us to get it right!
